East Midlands Airport (EMA) is centrally located between the East Midlands cities of Derby, Leicester and Nottingham and has flights to over 70 destinations operated by eight airlines that carry almost five million passengers per year. Although in terms of passenger aircraft movements, EMA is nothing special, the airport is a hub for both DHL and the Royal Mail meaning it is an excellent airport for spotting freight movements.

Munich and Salzburg 2017
In August 2017, I was lucky enough to spend three days on the continent for my birthday. Flying out to Munich, I spent 2 days in the German city and also had a day trip to visit my parents, who were holidaying just across the Austrian border in Salzburg.

After arriving with East Midlands Trains and enjoying a quick adventure on a class 37 hauled train. I arrived back at Norwich station in preparation of my journey to London with Greater Anglia.
