In August 2017, I was lucky enough to spend three days on the continent for my birthday. Flying out to Munich, I spent 2 days in the German city and also had a day trip to visit my parents, who were holidaying just across the Austrian border in Salzburg.

This is not the post I was supposed to write and the journey I completed was certainly not supposed to happen. In fact, I had already written the original introductory paragraph of this post before the plan changed.
After arriving with East Midlands Trains and enjoying a quick adventure on a class 37 hauled train. I arrived back at Norwich station in preparation of my journey to London with Greater Anglia.
Having arrived in Norwich after my journey with East Midlands Trains, I took the opportunity to take a final trip on Greater Anglia’s ‘short set’ before it finished operating in the middle of May
Of course, during the summer, you could always combine your visit with a visit to Heathrow and after seeing the Saturday morning activity at London City head west to see the afternoon and early evening arrivals at Heathrow.
