My only full day in Derry dawned with the weather looking like it was going to provide another good day. I decided to start the day with a walk from my accommodation down to the banks of the River Foyle, an area known as the Quayside. It was here that I found my spot for breakfast and enjoyed an excellent fry up at Primrose on the Quay.

Derry – A City of Many Names – Part 1
Having arrived at the City of Derry airport following a delayed but enjoyable flight with Loganair, I was looking forward to heading into the city to explore. Unfortunately, public transport connections are pretty non-existent with a bus every 2-3 hours which does not link up with flight times and would have departed six minutes before we landed if we’d been on time

As such my trip began at Heathrow for a morning flight across the Irish Sea with Loganair.
EDB-EUS Caledonian Sleeper – Classic
After an enjoyable couple of nights in Corrour, followed by a less enjoyable journey south via a combination of train and rail replacement minibus, we were back in Edinburgh ready to start the penultimate leg of our journey home.
Choosing Corrour Again
The middle of April saw us returning to Scotland for my fifth visit of the year, although this time we were heading to spend a couple of nights at our favourite place. Caledonian Sleeper had taken us to Fort William and a ride back south on Scotrail brought us to our destination. This post is all about why we were Choosing Corrour Again!
EUS-FTW Caledonian Sleeper – Classic Room
The middle of April saw us heading to London ready to begin my fifth trip to Scotland of the year. This one would be starting with an overnight journey onboard on one of the UK’s three sleeper services, Caledonian Sleeper’s ‘Highlander’ to Fort William.
