Having been abandoned at Aarhus airport by Ryanair, I had booked myself some alternative flights home and had stayed the night at the airport hotel. The following morning, I made the 20 second walk from my room back down to the check-in area, and checked myself in at one of the kiosks for the three legs of my journey home.

AAR to STN Cancelled & Abandoned by Ryanair
Having had an enjoyable 24 hours in the city of Aarhus, I had caught a very busy 925X bus back to the airport in plenty of time to catch my flight home. The buses are timed for specific flights, getting you to the airport around 90 minutes before the flight’s departure, but I had managed to get the bus before so was at the airport around 2 hours before we were due to take off back to Stansted.
Aarhus – In the Middle of Aar Street
Arriving in Aarhus, the largest city on Denmark’s Jutland peninsula and the country’s second largest city, on a Ryanair flight from Stansted, I headed outside the airport’s shiny new terminal to catch the airport bus into the city.
STN to AAR Ryanair Economy
Unlike most years, in 2023 I had the August Bank Holiday free and with Beth at a festival, I decided to have a short trip away to a country I hadn’t visited in over two decades, Denmark. The country’s second city, Aarhus was my destination and as with many of my trips, this one started at London’s Stansted Airport.
PND-STP Eurostar – Standard
Having arrived in Paris the day before on a TGV from La Rochelle, we’d spent the evening and morning exploring the city of lights a bit more before heading to Gare du Nord ready to start the final leg of our journey home. Just a few weeks before the Thalys brand disappeared, our journey from Paris to London St Pancras was with the original Eurostar onboard one of their newer class 374 e320 trains.
LRH-PAR SNCF TGV – 1st Class
After an enjoyable couple of weeks in France, it was time to begin our journey home and so we once again found ourselves at La Rochelle’s main station ready to catch a TGV to Paris. La Rochell has a spectacular station, originally constructed in 1922, however it is now much too grand for the level of service offered, with at best a two-hourly service on routes serving the station.
